The following Indigenous artists' work and perspectives are showcased in this exhibit.  Each artist offers a unique perspective into Indigenous futurisms, respective of their unique experiences, perceptions of the world, and ways of life. Their work spans the visual arts, film, and music and aim to create and visualize the past, present and future existences of Indigenous people.

NICHOLAS GALANIN  / MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST

Nicholas Galanin is a Tlingit and Unangax̂ multi-disciplinary artist and musician from Alaska. His work often explores a dialogue of change and identity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities.

Wendy Red Star was raised on the Apsáalooke reservation in Montana and her work is informed both by her cultural heritage and her engagement with many forms of creative expression, including photography, sculpture, video, fiber arts, and performance.

Nanobah Becker is an award-winning Navajo filmmaker and producer whose work has been screened at numerous film festivals across the globe.

SONNY ASSU / INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTIST

Sonny Assu is LiÇ¥wildaʼx̱w of the Kwakwaka’wakw Nations is an interdisciplinary artist from Vancouver Island, BC (unceded LiÇ¥wildaʼx̱w territory). He works with various mediums, primarily using media and pop culture pieces to define Indigenous futurity.
